Office of the PSGR President

The Prešov Self-Governing Region (PSGR), in accordance with Law No 302/2001 on higher territorial units (self-governing regions), paragraph 4, may carry out an international cooperation with territorial units and authorities of other states. This task is performed by International Cooperation Section of the Office of the PSGR President in collaboration with other departments of the PSGR Administration, national institutions and authorities, regional and local self-government authorities, as well as organizations, institutions, agencies and associations that reside on its territory.

Main duties and responsibilities of the PSGR International Cooperation Section are inferred from paragraph 5 of the law mentioned above and they are as follows:

• To plan, organize, implement, coordinate and assess the level of international cooperation with territorial administrative units or regional authorities of other states (as well as PSGR activities within international associations of territorial units or territorial authorities).
• To elaborate or participate in the process of development of international cooperation agreements (or documents on membership of international associations of territorial units or territorial authorities as well) together with other departments of the PSGR Administration, national institutions and administrative units that reside on its territory.
• To develop the strategic documents and prescriptive materials concerning international cooperation to be approved by regional PSGR Council.
• To keep register of signed agreements (or membership of international associations of territorial units or territorial authorities as well) in field of international cooperation.
• To ensure contracting process of the international cooperation agreements (enjoyment) and membership of international associations of territorial units or territorial authorities as well.
• To prepare and comprehensively provide international activities of key representatives of the Prešov Self-Governing Region.

International Cooperation Section is integrated into the structure of Office of the PSGR President (see Organizational Structure of the PSGR Administration on its web site).
