PIENAP

National Park Pieniny

The smallest NP covers the area of 3,750 ha.

Pieniny territory is characteristic for its scenic landscape with the preserved elements of the folk architecture, the narrow plantation patches of land crossed by steep balks and small boskets that merge into deep forests on ridges.

 

A great amount of extraordinary species of fauna, flora with their biotopes exist here.

Altogether 19 individually protected natural areas such as natural reservation, natural monument, protected area and a group of protected trees were established in PIENAP.

 

 

Following Nature Reserves are located in the territory of the NP:

• Dunajec River Gorge, 
• Breakthrough of the lesnický brook,
• Haligovské rocks;
• National Nature Monument Aksamitka Cave;
• Nature Reserve Kamienka tisina
• and Protected Site Pieninské lipy.

The biggest attraction for tourists is rafting on the wooden rafts through the Gorgeg, horse carriage rides and tourist walks and ascents.
