Spas, springs and waterparks

Slovakia is a small country, but it is rich in various sources of mineral and thermal water. There are about 1 500 springs in Slovakia, out of which more than 400 are located around towns and villages and they are predominantly used by local residents. Some of them are bottled at source for distributed consumption as superior mineral, table and curative water, such as Ľubovnianka, Sulinka, Cígeľka, Salvator, Baldovská. In the past, bathhouse have been built near the springs with the exceptional healing effects. Recently, also waterparks are emerging close to the springs. There are bardejovské Spa, Spa Vyšné Ružbachy, and Spa in the High Tatras, number of health centers and modern waterpark Aqua City in Poprad in the Prešov region.
