Skanzen

Skanzen - open-air museum, is a set of original wooden constructions which housed people in villages in the past. There are residential houses, agricultural buildings and craft shops with equipment, indicating the life style and customs in those times. in addition to skanzens, today those buildins can be found preserved in some still inhabited villages. Parts of those villages are proclaimed skanzens of folk culture. They are also known as so-called "livins skanzens" (Ždiar, Osturňa).
