Budget of Prešov Self-Governing Region

Financial operations of any self-governing region are based on a budget prepared for the period or a calendar year.

A draft of the self-government budget has to be accessible to the public at least 15 days prior to its approval in order for citizens of the self-governing region to be able to comment on the budget, as well as for comments of other persons (who have their real estates at the territory of the self-governing region, are registered residents or have a long-term permission to stay if they are foreigners).

Same applies to the draft of final statements of a self-governing region.

Status of the self-governing region’s budget, its forming and its contents, as well as the rules of budget economy, forming and using the extrabudgetary sources, means of financial compensation between self-governing regions and relations with the state budget and municipal budgets are governed by Act no. 442/2003 Coll., amending the act of the National Council SR no. 303/1995 Coll. concerning budgetary rules as amended.
